Additional API Endpoints
Learn more about various API endpoints that are not yet listed in Sefaria's API playground.
The Sefaria API provides ongoing access to Sefaria's structured database of Jewish texts and their interconnections. It is designed to make it as simple as possible for anyone to start building a new web or mobile app using our data and code. Please note that in order to run your own database, it's best to download a complete dump of our data on GitHub.

Text References
A number of API calls depend on creating valid text references (citations), which are generally called "refs" in our code. To understand text references, please see our documentation here.
