Project Acceptance Criteria

Powered by Sefaria is a curated showcase through which Sefaria highlights and amplifies projects that further our mission: making Jewish texts freely and meaningfully accessible to the world. The list of projects reflects Sefaria’s effort to curate a selection of submissions that we’re excited to highlight. Use of Sefaria’s API or data does not automatically result in inclusion.

What we look for:

Sefaria prioritizes projects that:

  • Deepen engagement with Jewish texts, tradition, and learning
  • Reflect thoughtful, respectful use of the source material
  • Contribute positively to the communities and audiences Sefaria serves
  • Demonstrate creativity, scholarship, or accessibility in ways that align with Sefaria’s values

How review works:

Sefaria reviews each application individually and exercises full discretion in deciding whether a project is showcased. Applications will not be selected if they violate our terms of service or:

  • Promote a religious tradition other than Judaism, including using Jewish texts for missionary or conversion-oriented purposes
  • Harass or abuse users
  • Violate users’ privacy
  • Engage in false statements, impersonation, or fraud
  • Infringe on others’ rights
  • Misuse our services for illegal purposes
  • Engage in disruptive or illegal misuse of facilities
  • Are otherwise inconsistent with Sefaria’s mission or values, as determined by Sefaria

Selection for Powered by Sefaria is at Sefaria’s discretion. Sefaria reserves the right to decline or remove a project from listing at any time.
